Ramadan is meant to be about self-discipline and stamina, yet some individuals and societies feel they must force people who aren't fasting to not eat or drink in public If your will is so weak that you can't stand someone else eating or drinking, maybe you shouldn't be fasting

Why this event should rile conservatives so much is literally beyond belief. Faith is, after all, a private matter. Nobody has the right to appoint themselves gatekeepers to a religion. In a secular society, nobody has the right to force their beliefs and prejudices onto others.

As if #Ramadan isn't lonely enough for LGBTQ Muslims, a queer iftar in Antwerp where they could get together and break bread has been cancelled because the organisers could not guarantee a safe space after multiple threats. Solidarity with queer Muslims everywhere. #Ramadan2023
