Why this event should rile conservatives so much is literally beyond belief. Faith is, after all, a private matter. Nobody has the right to appoint themselves gatekeepers to a religion. In a secular society, nobody has the right to force their beliefs and prejudices onto others.

For 20 years, people in Iraq have been paying a hefty price for the US-led war in their country. Meanwhile, not one of the architects of that catastrophe have been brought to justice. In fact, George W Bush, Tony Blair and the others have had peaceful and lucrative retirements.
