In Islam, God has 99 attributes but gender equality ain't one. Not only is God masculine (at least in terms of grammar), only men may use one of his names as part of their own. For example, you can have a man called Abdullah but you can't have a woman called Abdetullah.

This goes to show that mental health is still not being taken seriously enough, nor are the erosion of the welfare state and the widening inequalities that are impoverishing the many in favour of the few.

My week started with tragedy. Someone had jumped in front of a speeding train. Suicide by locomotive is, sadly, becoming increasingly common. Some people's screams of anguish go so unheard or unresolved that they decide to take their lives in this very public and very final way
