When will there be peace?

The attack on the Gaza flotilla, the blockade of the Gaza Strip, the presence of the fundamentalist Hamas and an extremist government in Israel, political disarray in Palestinian ranks, and mutual distrust between Israelis and Palestinians do not bode well for the future. But could peace be just around the corner or is it a dim and distant prospect?

I don’t think they’ll ever at peace. They have some deep-rooted issues!

Really? Only when everyone in the World finally
realizes that War isn’t the answer to any of our
problems and start to work together. Imagine what
we could accomplish if we spent all the time, energy,
& money spent on going to War to work towards Peace!

Luckily they aren’t asking in terms of minutes or days or something. ( ;-) ) Some days, I swear, it looks so bad that maybe the rest of the world might wiser to just ignore their asses and let them play in that stupid sandbox.

If muso quotes are allowed… “just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean they’re not after you”. Could all be true, of course, but I might be saying that just to mess with your head. (-:

    Never !

The CIA is the executive branch of this setup. Thousands of agents are there, fomenting revolutions and committing assassinations. Not even the president has any inkling of what they are doing. Every border in the middle east was drawn up by Westerners, lumping people together who will never get along. This guarantees continued weapon sales and is financed by your tax dollars!

I assume that the intention here is “real peace”? Given the trends in the region (and not only with the Palestinians), I would say that things are not looking too good.

It is one thing to sign some sort of document to “end hostilities” and something else altogether to finally put this conflict to rest. Sadly, I think that we are talking about at … See moreleast one generation, if not more, before any semblance of ‘normal’ relations can reign between Israel and the rest of the region. The mistrust and lack of understanding are just too much – and this cannot be changed overnight.

I think it really comes down to how bad can it get before things start to improve, and what your understanding of peace is. If peace just means no walls, then 10 years should do it. If peace means no walls and no organised violence against each other, then 25 years. If peace means no walls, no organised violence and no distrust, then never. Belgium’s ‘two peoples, one country’ solution is a lesson there.
