Shakespeare calls the witches in Macbeth "weird sisters" if I'm not mistaken. By the way, there's a nuance within baseball to "shagging flies." It refers to catching and/or collecting balls hit during batting practice. Often, bench players and pitchers get stuck doing it. It doesn't necessarily mean you catch it on the fly. It can also mean just going to pick up a ball that's rolled to a stop near you.
